This little jack is probably the favorite in my collection. Certainly the oldest. I swear I've seen Fillmore in one of Levines earlier guides. I have the expanded third edition now and it's not listed. either that or it's in an early Robeson catalog. This knife was an early Robeson import from Austria.

Nice looking piece. I like the shield as well. Something a little different.

Any idea of the year?

Thanks for the added pics, navihawk. It truly has magnificent old bone and nearly full blades. What a specimen!

Nice old one, that has great DNA.I hope CNoyes sees this,he's the Robeson expert.

It's funny how some knives just seem to be more special.

That would be a favourite of mine too! Choice bone and an unusual pattern, very attractive knife.

Thanks, Will

1891-1895. The C.Noyes website comfirms it's an early Robeson.

Going on to reading a bit, Robeson bought knives early on and built shelves to store them as he sold them.

Awesome knife! What a sweetheart, that Bone is just beautiful - I cann see why its a favourite of yours - it would be one of mine too!

Great looking knife. From the pictures it looks like the pins are spun and not hammered (peened). This would indicate the knife was most likely made in the 1930's.

A great and early Robeson!
Nice knife, both for its age, and its condition!!

The look spun with the picks bit thee are no marks on the bone. The pins stick out just proud of the bone.
