Filson and Pendleton Axes

I wont be buying best made simply because I'm poor and have the skills to reshape heads to my liking. If I did have money for an expensive axe, it'd be a Neeman because of the thinner profile and the handle curve. I have nothing but respect for Best Made, and I think both nickzdon and Operator1975 make good points. It's really easy to dismiss something by saying "I could do that." It's just as easy to forget that we wouldn't be interested in axes, handtools, or craftsmanship if we weren't introduced to them at some point. I'm not going to be the one to live in NYC, but I'm pleased that there are people there selling and teaching people about axes.

I prefer my John Neeman plunger.

Amazing people have the talent to build a web site and make a video to mock someone, that's how they spend their time and talent? That is what is truly sad. Can't do it yourself so tear down those that are trying. So very sad. I feel bad for them.

Aww. If these gentlemen have the stones to ask me for $160 for their lovely paint job (god bless 'em, may they sell a million) they can stand up to a little ribbing.

Filson has made some fantastic wool clothing. I have a pair of their heavy wool Mackinaw Field Pants and a wool double Mackinaw Cruiser jacket and two of their wool hats. These are about 15+ years old and still going strong. They are simply perfect for outdoor winter wear in Wisconsin. Their wool is hard to beat.

I'm just not sure about them marketing these axes. To me it diminishes the brand. But I'm an older geezer, what do I know.

After perusing this thread last night I wandered over to Filson's site. I'm looking for a new heavy coat anyways and although pricey, from what I'm hearing I won't be needing to buy a replacement anytime soon.

Also, give yourself some credit; old geezers usually know the most.
