Filtering out sub-forums?

This is a first world problem, I realize. Before I became a Gold member I would not see any of the political stuff show up in the stream of "New Posts". When I logon to Bladeforums I generally start with "New Posts". Is there a way to not see or sort out unwanted forums? I am here for the knives! I am guessing not and hate to be a complainer but am curious.
 
If you put a member on “ignore”, you will not see any threads they’ve created regardless of the sub forum.
 
I get it - look for creative ways. I was hoping to not see anything political, but that is a pipe dream.

Fortunately, most of the PA thread starters rarely post about knives, so I haven't noticed a big difference after putting them on ignore. The "New Posts" feed is much more pleasant this way.
 
I guess that's as good a use if the ignore feature as any. I'd resisted that approach (it was mentioned the last time this topic was raised); but I think I'm going to have to go for it.
