FINAL DECISION HELP: Nine-Inch Knife!

I really have to disagree with disqualifying Entrek knives. Nothing wrong with properly heat treated good ole' 440C. Ray Ennis seems to be doing a very decent job for quite a long time with his knives. I have 3 of them and plan to buy more.

i have the final judgment in 3v & a custom siegle in 5160. the siegle outchops the judgment by a large margin [check san gabriel in wilderness]. i will say that it's almost impossible to dull eric's 3v. the siegle came back to hair shaving after only 5 or 6 minutes . cut a bunch of stuff sat. including taking down an entire tree.my nephews have lots of busses & ferhmans & call it a tie between the 2 brands.i favor the siegle although it doe'st hold an edge quite as good as a ferhman the chopping is much more easier & 5 or 6 minutes to bring it back up to shaving is negligible.

the leather on the fallkniven is'nt regular leather. it's oxhide that actually grips better in hand when wet & has a higher rot resistance than cowhide. [info according to fall.]dennis

I like your final 3. I dislike the ESEE handle tremendously and I just don't get all the hype about them. They look just like the Ontario RATs from years previous although I know the quality is there and its uncomfortable to me but that's just my opinion.

Out of your top three I would get the Dogfather unless you just want to spend the extra coin on a Fehrman but either would serve well.

FWIW my own choppers are the Scrapyard Deregulator, Swamp Rat Chopwieler and Battle Rat. I would trust any of these as good camp/chopper knives.

Good luck choosing.
