Up for sale is this modified Imacasa model #100615 T-MI-

Work on this piece includes:
~Sanding of handle
~Staining of handle
~Clear-coating of handle
~Drilling recessed bolt wells in handle
~Trimming/flushing of handle bolts
~Cutting blade profile
~Shaping blade profile
~Dressing spine
~Extending edge to base of blade
~Sharpening of primary edge
~Sharpening of false edge
~Convexing of edges
~Polishing of edges

Blade Length: 14.5"
Handle Length: 12.5"

This piece combines a heavy, broad bowie-styled blade with a hatchet-like handle for either one or two-handed use. The point is directly in-line with the center line of the handle for maximum tip control, and the edge extends all the way to the handle for precise carving work. The sharpened false edge makes for excellent back-cuts on branches as well as grasses and other vegetation, and the long handle keeps hands clear of thorns and brambles while remaining short enough to be easily portable. The removable handle bolts (with combination flat/Phillips heads) allow for the crafting of longer or shorter handles and can be rapidly disassembled for easy swapping or storage. Grinds are nice and thin for deep cuts even on hard materials.

I'll try to get some more photographs later this week that give a better impression of scale. In the meantime feel free to make reasonable offers.

Shipping info updated.

So folks are aware, with the time invested I'd only be making $7/hour on this piece at the present listed price. I make these for fun, not to turn a big profit, so snag it fast! :p

Damn, shipping cost would kill me.

But I must say one thing.
This machete should TOTALLY go to some hollywood movie. Just perfect zombie/monster/alien killer. Great piece of hardware.

Unfortunately that's just what it costs to ship an item this big. :o

Thanks for the compliments! This is a really impressive piece in-hand. Pics don't do it justice!:thumbup:

Edit: Just noticed your location. The Nessmuk-style machete that I sold recently went to Australia and the shipping was $33. Gives you a rough idea at least.

Sweet stuff! After reading your billhook thread, looks like this would make a perfect size for one.

Thanks! While this one isn't a billhook, it's a very handy tool for similar tasks without any snagging issues--it's more for general use than a specialized piece. A lot of folks have tried to combine the qualities of both a machete and an axe...this one is a little more literal than most! It's light and fast for quick clearing of light targets, but has the forward weight and concentrated mass that hits hard on the tougher targets as well!
