I bought these as a teen in the late 70's or early 80's. I am not an expert but the Buck 184 does not have the Pat Pending stamp which I believe makes it an earlier run.

These are used but other than playing Rambo around the house and backyard I can't recall ever cutting anything other than my fingers. I don't think either were sharpened as I did not know how. The tip of the Buck has a small chip and a fair amount of patina that I tried to capture in the pics. It also has the normal scratches and black marks caused by the sheath. The Commando blade and edge are very clean. I do not have boxes. What you see is what I have. I am not 100% sure which knife came with the hooks, saw, needles, matches, sinkers, etc. Another reason to sell as a set. All the wire, hooks, line, needles, and matches came with the Commando.The compass goes with the Buck. Pics below. Can send more pics if someone is serious.

Pricing these tricky as not much of a history to search. First "I'll take it" in the post gets priority.

I am asking $675 $525 $475 for Buck only via USPS money order, Zelle or Venmo Friends for the pair. Would consider PP F & F but hate the new policies. USPS Priority mail to CONUS only. I pay shipping but not extra insurance. No international sales. Must be 18 years old.

The 1st Buckmasters had the compass inside the knurled butt cap, still a classic and rare. I'll look mine over as well, I picked it up around 84ish. Actually I snagged it from one of my dad's early stock orders (when he had his firearms store) he ordered directly from Buck when they were first released. Not familiar with the other but quite reminiscent of some of the various ones that were produced by Parker Cutlery, Explorer/Gutmann Cutlery, or Taylor Cutlery, I'd still venture to say early to mid 80s. Nice knives!
