In all fairness, I thought I should post the final resolution regarding the unfortunate knife trading incident that I was involved in with Jerry Roberts, aka Underdogizhere. He did not fulfill his offer to retrieve my Chew Spitfire and reverse our trade. However, the dealer from whom the dog bought the Terzuola felt a bit responsible for the situation, so he offered to replace the slighlty blemished ATCF with a brand new one that he had. I told him that I really did not care for the knife anyway, so he allowed me to pick a different knife of equal value from his stock. I selected a Pat Crawford Covert with jewelled bolsters and Mastodon ivory scales.

As luck would have it, I told a friend about this entire debacle, and showed him the Terz, and he loved and wanted it. The dealer generously sold the knife to my buddy for $400! What a fantastic price for such a knife!

So in the end, I have ended up getting a nicer knife that Ipreferred, and my friend found his carry knife for a bargain. I don't really feel Jerry deserves any of the credit for this story turning out happy in the end, since he has not been involved once he reneged on returning my knife. But I also feel it was important for all to know how it was sorted out. I only wish I could name the dealer, since I feel he has truly gone above and beyond the call of duty. You know who you are..........THANK YOU!!!!

As it happens, somebody had a DA Spitfire for sale on the board, so I bought it. I should have a Chew back in the drawer by the end of the week!:D

Thanks to everyone's support during this unfortunate incident! Since it only seems to happen every 3 years, I know I can look forward to many many perfect trades and purchases for a good long while.

Glenn

Glenn,
Congratulations on getting everything worked out:)
I think that dealer went far above and beyond the expected, and deserves the highest praise.

btw, that's a beautiful knife!

Why don't you name that dealer...sounds like someone we should all know about! :) Good service is sometimes hard to come by you know.

Glenn, I am glad things worked out for you in this deal. I have a feeling I know the dealer you are talking about because there is only one that comes to mind that would do this for someone. He is the most generous and understanding person in the business. Take care.
michael :D

Glenn,

That IS a VERY NICE-looking knife!. (Now I'm jealous!..).

BTW...You do have my permission to "name the dealer", as good deeds SHOULD be rewarded.:).

Oh, now it is ONLY slightly blemished..Enough is ENOUGH...I am tired of reading about your snivelling little story..GET REAL..No one took advantage of you..YOU took the advantage..of EVERYONE that supported you...you were offered another Terzoula..but, NOOOOOOOOOOO..not good enough..GIVE ME A BREAK..don't kid yourself that I had nothing to do with you getting something else..AS I DID....I made the request man..wake up..Everyone knows who this GREAT GUY is..but, he owed you NOTHING...but he wanted to try to make it right in lieu of any bickering..very honorable but, not my style....and not that of many others that posted..and I AM NOT so bad..read the other posts of my RECENT dealings...odd that only ONE of my trades went bad...look at the rest...GROW UP..Anyway, anyone who wants to respond and post how they would NEVER do business with me..save yourself some time and trouble and do smoething more productive.. as i don't want your business either..THIS GUY is a JERK..and the REAL CRIME is many of you don't see it...:(

I'm not so sure I agree with you as to whom has been the "jerk" in this transaction.I have not done business with either parties, nor do I know Glenn or yourself. My take on this from a unbiased, neutral position is this. Please correct me if I'm wrong with any of these facts.
1)You sent the knife without first inspecting the knife for scratches etc.or sent it presenting it as New/Mint when it was obviously not. This is subject to interpetation, but the scratches were evident enough as to question your grading the condition properly. This is why a deal is not done until the other party has a chance to look over the knife and give the final okay.
2)You did not ship until after you had received the Chew?Correct?Left him hanging while you decided whether you were satisfied with your end of the trade. Then so graciously shipped his less than mint knife the next day.Correct?
3)Most important and Biggest crime in this whole deal is that you got rid of the Chew before the deal was completed. This means,if for any reason he didn't like the knife,he should have been able to get the Chew back minus shipping etc.
4)While thankfully somone else bailed your A** out of the situation,Glenn was in no way obligated to take any replacements offered,in lieu of the Chew.By the way you had already agreed to get his Chew back and reniged.
AS far as Glenn goes, after you made the offer to get the Chew back he should have backed off and see how it played out.So no,while he wasn't perfect, his contribution to this cluster F*** was not even worth mentioning.
Moreover;I think you were childish in going back on your word, about retrieving his Chew back from N.C.This is where you could have shined as far as being mature about the situation and making it right, irregardless of Glenn's posts. After all Underdog, this situation was created almost totally on your part, and from your mistakes through out the transaction.I'm sure you have had many good past dealings, but how someone deals with a problem is when the true test of honesty, integrity is fully measured. My two cents,
Best Regards,Ralph

Glenn ended up smelling like a rose.
A large part due to Jerry's close affiliation with said dealer.
LETS ALL DROP THIS THING AND GET BACK TO REAL LIFE OK??????????

Don't worry Jerry, your reputation is in tact with all the people that have had great dealings with you, and in no way has this thread changed anything. :)<p>Keep your chin up!

Guys! Let it die, it's over!! How about the name of that dealer. Sounds like someone I would send some business to in the future!:D

If underdogizhere arranged for this dealer to 'make things right', I commend him for at least attempting on his part to also 'do the right' thing.

Glenn,

Since this situation has been resolved to your satisfaction, please drop the matter, and move on. No one is going to gain anything by either you or Jerry pointing fingers at each other.

Please, both of you.....move on. Don't force us to have to moderate a flame war, and lock this thread.

I'd also like to know who the dealer is, as he deserves some recognition for outstanding service.
