Hey everybody, been awhile, my new puppy has been keeping me pretty busy ( actual puppy, not a Scrapyard, a Welsh Corgi goes by the name, Darwin aka Pork Chop). Anyways, recently Burl Source has had some sweet sales and I just couldn't pass up on some great deals on so stabilized Redwood Burl. Everyone knows I love my Zilla, it is, in my opinion, the best chopper to come out of Wauseon. My only problem is I'm not crazy about G10, and I've often thought of sending her in for some micarta or wood. So I figured I'd give it a go myself, what e heck, if I don't like it, I'll send her in for a proper job, but I'm pretty confident since I've rehandled a few knives already. Enough babbling, heres a couple WIP pics, in a few days it should be done (time permitting) enjoy

Popped her slabs off, ( she looks so naked:eek:)

Sanded to 400 grit and first coating of tung oil to condition the wood, may sand it a bit higher, still need to CA fill a few small voids.

Thanks man! Feel free to pm or email me with any questions about doing it yourself you might have, glad to help if I can, I couldn't do this of anyone other than myself, to much pressure and it makes it not fun
