That's understandable. I'll definitely send you a PM when I have the free time to take on a project like this. Thanks man! Feel free to pm or email me with any questions about doing it yourself you might have, glad to help if I can, I couldn't do this of anyone other than myself, to much pressure and it makes it not fun
Jroden those handles look amazing! I am going to have to try something like this.. do they make the blade feel different? are they heavier or lighter or the same as the micarta handles?
Great job J  The benefit of having a set of grips which are a bespoke fit for your hand really shows itself when doing a large chopping session ...![]()
I have a KZII which I would love to do a custom set of grips for ... I want it to have that "locked in" ability on the grip that you get with the TTKZ design ...
Nice job brother! THat took some nerve and even more skill![]()
Whats the plan for finish? Just continue on with the tung oil? I found tung oil finishes attract dirt over time and get icky lookin.
Tung takes forever to fully cure (un-polymerized) so unless you can wait a couple of months it might get gummy when you sweat. YMMV of course. My hands pour out acid whenever I touch anything haha. A few coats of wax after the tung should do the trick, its how Im doin my handles and it smells good too!
How do you think the wood will hold up with hard use?
Wow. Nice job. That Redwood looks like pieces of Wagyu beef!
