Finally a slip joint

I read the post about the bar ealier and it's got the gears turning now. I'm gonna see if I can come up with something.

As for the race running even, seems to have a touched a nerve with some. But I think I've gotten enough of a good response that I will continue to do them this way. I'm ready to get some to a show to see what guys there think. I've really liked the look since I saw them on a knife nearly a year ago.

I like the idea of the studs as I am not allowed nails due to training for Massage Therapy, and recently I have had problems opening a few slipjoints. I think that the bumps would give purchase and not interfere with cutting efficiency.

Don't know about touching a nerve, but it's probably healthy when any design or endeavor's support is split between both traditional and progressive thinking.

Ryan please post a pic of the mamoth bark ivory ones when you get them done. Great looking knife and the studs look good too.

Fine work sir! I've only made a few slipjoints myself and it really takes patience to make something that looks that good. I like the studs, too.

I like the studs. I think they are well done. I am not a traditionalist. With that said, my preference would still be for a nail nick...

I own no custom slip joints. I do have a design degree, if that qualifies me to comment.

The execution is compelling and it is a gentleman's knife I would want to own.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've been working on a couple more with different handle materials this week. One also has the same spacing on the studs but is slightly larger than the studs on this knife. Wanted to try a couple variations and see what was liked best.
