You got a sweet looking Sig. I've got the P220 dual tone. Brushed satin upper with black lower. Yours has a little more pronounced beavertail than mine plus the wood grips. Good luck and enjoy.

Oh dwainecongratulations! i'm so envious!! That has been my grail gun since i got my 1911 (when i was 13, lol). A lot have come and gone trying to take my mind off it, and infi has taken all my spare dough for the last 8 years.
Best of luck with it.
What range is that test target shot at?
Show some action shots of the range session if possible.
Damn that is a sweet pistol.

edited to add: ok, i see that is a 25 meter target.

wow that is cool.

I need one for holster making yep that's it holster making :)

I owned and carried a Sig P210 for 30 years ... best pistol I ever had! But competing in IPSC had me in need of a higher magazine capacity ... so I traded it for a Czech-Mate CZ. For balance and feel and reliability there is nothing to compare ... and the accuracy !!!! Once you get a load developed they are the most accurate semi-auto I have shot ... and that includes Walther GSP's in .32 auto and many IPSC Open guns too ... and the triggers are superb. I got mine worked on to install a 1911 mag release by a top gunsmith here in the UK ( mine had an original butt release ) and later had the Target barrel fitted which extended from the frame with a seperate fore sight . Got him to remove the foresight and fit a compensator which could be removed if need be and a moderator/silencer fitted as an alternative. Ken (the Gunsmith, who sadly is dead now ) lived where I live in the Dark Peak District in the UK ... he introduced me to this area ... and was a legend in our security services as an armourer ... a great guy ... and I really enjoyed that pistol. I have a "buy back option" to get it back and given the time we have had together I may well do so.

This one was done by Novak's and shows the same modification and I had their low profile adjustable sights fitted as well ...

but mine had this type of target barrel modified for a compensator ...

Aside from a Ruger integral silenced .22 semi auto pistol the Sig was the only pistol I ever needed. Yes ... I definately want to get my old one back ...

Good shooting with yours

Went to the range, but it was closed today... I guess I'll have to go tomorrow sometime.

Congratulations, Ordered my P220 Elite and waited almost 4 months for it to come in, Worth the wait!!
Best of luck with it, Though you don't need luck with a Sig!!

Congrats. That is a sweet looking piece. I understand what it is like to want something and have to wait for it to arrive. Hopefully my grail gun will be in this week.

Wow. The Sig 22x generation of pistols are great, but the 210 is on an entirely different level of lust-worthiness. It's wonderful that they're making them again (in Germany, right?); I sure hope Sig-Sauer can live up to the reputation that the old Swiss-made ones made for themselves. It sure looks beautiful!

Congratulations. That's truly a classic firearm.

I have been lucky that my local dealer always seems to have good stuff in stock. I picked up my Sig X-5, 220, 225, Ed Brown Kobra Carry, and now the P210 off the shelf there. I just had to sell off some other stuff to raise the money.

Because they have so much I like I cannot drop by very often :-)

Your local dealer seems prepared to invest in some high end pistols ! Stocking Ed Brown's just for the shelf ... and P210's ... those are'nt your average "fare" ...

That's a bit like a knife shop that orders in a few Moab's just for the shelf .... Great taste though ...

They don't have these on the shelf all the time, if they did I would be broke. I have not seen a P210 there before, and have not seen another X-5 or Ed Brown there since. But they did have 2 Nighthawk Custom 1911s there yesterday. I think they get in one or two high end guns, and replace them with something different as they sell.

NICE, NICE, NICE. Use to have one of those SIG P-210 `Neuhausen`pistols as a service gun.
-Now i want a target pistols like yours. CONGRATS:D:D:D

I was finally able to get to the range... It took a while, but I was away in Jamaica for vacation, so this was the first time I could get away....

All I can say is that it shoots great..... These are 3 groups at 20 yards after I adjusted the sights slightly for my eyes. The black circles are the "cover up" circles form the shoot n see 5.5" targets and are about 1" in diameter. I usually put up the big target and surround it with the smaller pieces to make it more fun.

Not too shabby but that gun is designed for 50 meters, let's see those groups ;)

btw...I just sold my old -5 a couple of months ago

I went to an indoor range today because it is raining here, so could only get to 20 yards...

But that is about as far as my eyes can see without a scope :-)

1WB's is right on 50 metres being the design criteria for the pistol ... the old test targets that come with the pistol were done at 50m's and had to shoot within a 2 inch group ( 5 cm's in metric ). As I say, once you develop a load and test it in a cradle, the groups at 20 yards will tighten and cluster like the 5 shot group in the second pic. Usually from a clip there is just a ragged single "hole" once the load is sorted.

It is shooting great though "as is" for factory ammo ... particularly if you have'nt had the chance to find it's favourite factory load.

For me the size of the pistol which is just a bit smaller than the 1911 ... is a perfect balance of accuracy and portability ... easy to conceal and "superb" in hand.

Here is a link comparing the "old with the new" on the Sig P210 ... the guy who wrote it is biased a little towards collecting the old models as opposed to "shooting performance" and appreciating the benefits of the 1911 mag release ... but his observations on the trigger stop and the mag release are worth noting ... his knowledge on the variations of the pistol is excellent but he comes across as a little bit pretentious in his style of writing.

http://larvatus.livejournal.com/283813.html

If you ever need to change out the trigger mechanism or alter how the mag release is fitted to the frame give Novak's a ring. I rate them very highly for pistols carried for serious use.

With the pistol now being made in Germany ... there will be an "old guard" purist element who advocate the halcion era of these pistols as being assembled by Hammerli in the 70's from forged parts ... but even they have to concede that the tolerances now able to be produced by CNC machining are of a custom "tightness".

The whole thing is a bit like a SHBM v a BWM LE debate ... as both are fantastic knives and feel very similar in balance but one is simply newer than the other ...

On the plus side for Germany is that the best "pistolsmith" in the world for these pistols is a German guy called Kurt Tschofen in Stuttgart. His work is superb ... my pistol was done the same as this but without the off hand 50m target grips and just good Nihl combat grips and Novak adjustable low profile night sights and beavertail grip ... and the accuracy/reliability and quality meant I never wanted to change for anything else ... here are a few pic's of his work on the new Sig P210's ...
