1WB's is right on 50 metres being the design criteria for the pistol ... the old test targets that come with the pistol were done at 50m's and had to shoot within a 2 inch group ( 5 cm's in metric ). As I say, once you develop a load and test it in a cradle, the groups at 20 yards will tighten and cluster like the 5 shot group in the second pic. Usually from a clip there is just a ragged single "hole" once the load is sorted.
It is shooting great though "as is" for factory ammo ... particularly if you have'nt had the chance to find it's favourite factory load.
For me the size of the pistol which is just a bit smaller than the 1911 ... is a perfect balance of accuracy and portability ... easy to conceal and "superb" in hand.
Here is a link comparing the "old with the new" on the Sig P210 ... the guy who wrote it is biased a little towards collecting the old models as opposed to "shooting performance" and appreciating the benefits of the 1911 mag release ... but his observations on the trigger stop and the mag release are worth noting ... his knowledge on the variations of the pistol is excellent but he comes across as a little bit pretentious in his style of writing.

If you ever need to change out the trigger mechanism or alter how the mag release is fitted to the frame give Novak's a ring. I rate them very highly for pistols carried for serious use.
With the pistol now being made in Germany ... there will be an "old guard" purist element who advocate the halcion era of these pistols as being assembled by Hammerli in the 70's from forged parts ... but even they have to concede that the tolerances now able to be produced by CNC machining are of a custom "tightness".
The whole thing is a bit like a SHBM v a BWM LE debate ... as both are fantastic knives and feel very similar in balance but one is simply newer than the other ...
On the plus side for Germany is that the best "pistolsmith" in the world for these pistols is a German guy called Kurt Tschofen in Stuttgart. His work is superb ... my pistol was done the same as this but without the off hand 50m target grips and just good Nihl combat grips and Novak adjustable low profile night sights and beavertail grip ... and the accuracy/reliability and quality meant I never wanted to change for anything else ... here are a few pic's of his work on the new Sig P210's ...
