It seems like a sweet steel from everything I've read. It didn't seem too hard to grind either although I only took it up through 220 grit. Gonna definitely be using it in future projects!
 
Although non-scientific in any way, basically everyone I've ever talked to that knows the knife has said the same thing.

Count me in as part of that "everyone." Been kicking myself for years for not getting one.
