Finally bit the bullet

Still getting used to the new camera. Thanks for the priases fulloflead. I have to admit when I got it back from the factory I was shocked at how cool looking the raindrop pattern on this was. Kind of whispy rain huh?
:D

WOW, I placed an order for an extra laddar damascus blade for my Mnandi.
I think your nice looking Raindrop convinced me to get an extra for my micarta as well. Oh dear, such nice looking patterns !!!

BTW, is it regular or stainless damascus ?
Is it high contrast stainless or regular (non-high-contrast) damascus ? TIA.

It's regular stainless Damascus KC. This one being on a small micarta, I didn't ask to have the blade clear coated as on most of my other Sebs. The subdued etching really compliments the handle nicely. I'll add some comparison pix this afternoon. :)

That's incredible. I like that WAY better than the more symetrical-looking damascus I've seen a lot of lately. This looks more organic. Like you can imagine someone sweating over it with a hammer instead of it looking like it was made in a factory.

.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Here is a comparison picture of the three kinds of Damascus currently offered by the CRK factory(Ladder, raindrop, and spiralgraph). The Spiral and Ladder have the clearcoat finish. All Damascus is stainless...

I left early so that I could make a local gun show, about a half hour from home. Well, local for me, my old stomping grounds. Work is about an hour away from home going the other way. So, I had an hour and a half trip to look forward to, just to pick up a knife and a kydex sheath. It was worth it, but I figured I'd stop at the PO on the way home anyway. Locked.

But, I saw a carrier getting ready to leave, and asked her if I could get the package. She brought it out, checked my ID, I signed for it, and got to play with my Sebbie. Which is officially too nice to use. I might have to get one with regular handles to use. Bought it brand new on another forum, I don't know if the guy is a member here, but he's a good guy. Suz and Labella know who he is.

It's a great knife, I love the handle, sharp as a politician.

BTW, I picked up a Spyderco mini Dyad and Ontario pilots survival knife at the show the next day.

(Fixed a little formality!;) )

Enjoy your new Sebbie.......,CRK's are just awesome!!!

Yes, he is a member here too! Sebbies are meant to be used! I have my Night Sky in my pocket as we speak, and my small classic as well. You can never have too many Sebbies, and that is as good of an excuse to buy another as any!!! PS: Sebenza means work in Zulu.

I just ordered one of these from NGK. A small PE micarta sebbie.

This is by far the most expensive knife I've ever bought, I must be crazy :)

The plan is for it to replace my Al Mar mini-SERE as my EDC, I just hope I can bring myself to actually use a $400 knife

Edit: Wow, my first post on BF, hey all! :D

Congrats on the new CR knife Ikarus and welcome to the forums! I'm also a new owner of the small Classic Sebenza with micarta inlays. I also got my plain large Classic Sebenza early this week. Yes, it is quite expensive to aquire these knives but you get what you pay for is what I always say. I definitely will use them as a EDC knife and use them when I need to.

BTW, I removed the pocket clips and installed the replacement inserts on my knives. I have a CR belt sheath and the knives fit better in it.

Enjoy your new knife!

Thanks :)

Yeah, you usually do get what you pay for. I don't mind paying a lot, as long as what I get is quality (as opposed to paying alot just for a brand name). From reading these forums I know CRK is all about quality.

I was thinking about removing the clip on mine aswell. I usually carry my EDC in my watch pocket without using the clip, concealing it completely (carrying a knife in a public place is illegal in Norway, it doesn't matter if it's concealed or not). That's why I went with a small sebenza instead of a large one, as anything over 4" sticks out of the watch pocket. I guess I'll have to get one of those inserts :)
