Finally bought a 110

Was looking at the knife section at work and decided it's finally time for a 110. $32 after my employee discount, but this knife feels like it should be worth so much more. It has quickly become my favorite knife. Lockup is perfect. Zero side play or vertical play. Grinds are even. Knife is razor sharp. Bit two people I showed it to already. It's really heavy, but it's balanced so well that it feels lighter. Pocket carry is pretty much out of the question. I'm extremely satisfied by the belt sheath though. I can't get over how beautiful this knife is. The brass came polished to a sheen. The dymondwood handles aren't bad. Actual wood would have been better though. I can't wait to see how it looks after some wear. I'm taking it hiking later this week.

Welcome to the 110 Fraternity!
I only have two of the 110's so far. A 50th Anniversary fingerprint magnet for fancy doo's, and a standard that I knocked the shine off the brass (400 grit sandpaper) for everyday use.
Did you get the leather sheath or the nylon sheath with yours?

Good choice in the 110. I have 2, one from the mid '60's and the other from the late 70's or early 80's. They are great knives that will last a lifetime. It will be something you can pass down through generations.

Welcome to the Buck Forum. The 110 is a great knife but be careful, it was a gateway knife for me, after 4 years I am still looking for the next Buck.

Be aware. The 110 (or any other Buck knive) is the virus for the uncurable Buck fever. [emoji6] [emoji16][emoji40][emoji74]

Here's mine from about 1975. I just touched up the blade today... hair popper. It has gutted deer, sliced cheese and summer sausage and cut up steaks at the dinner table. I love it. Its easy to carry and handy as hell. Arguably the best knife I've ever owned.

DDDWHO, awesome picture! Sheath is black leather. I usually like brown sheaths but this one isn't bad. Now I just have to justify a $100+ custom shop 110. Pictures will be added after hike.

Congrats on your purchase. I waited over 35 years before I bought one. Now I have 2, a standard over the counter and 1 from the Custom Shop in Ram's Horn I got for my 50'th birthday a couple of years ago. I must say, I had really missed out all those years. Sure, it's heavy, and has a more classic look than the super cool tacticals, (which I still can't find, I know there around here somewhere). But for a finer get- the- job done knife, you can do no better in my opinion.

Congratulations on your new 110. There's a reason it's sold hundreds of thousands (who knows, maybe over a million?) over the years. The 110 fills just about every need/purpose a man could want in a knife. If you're ever looking for a sheath that allows you to draw with one hand I highly recommend these: http://www.quickdrawsheath.com/

Quick, you guys just buying your first 110's.
Look up your local chapter of Buck Anon.
Hurry
:eek::D

That is really nice but its more money than I gave for the knife

They're quality handmade leather sheaths. I think it's worth the $33 and shipping. Have you seen how much custom leather holsters for guns cost? Some are about the same size and sell in the $120's. It might be a little pricey for some but I say if you plan to carry it every day it's a good investment.

Listen to this man ... wise words spoken. ;)

You made a great decision in getting a 110. It is such an awesome knife for belt carry. :)

Meanbeaver, I am in the same boat. I just received a 110 in a trade and am wondering why I didn't get one sooner. There is definitely a reason why the 110 is so iconic! This may or may not be the place to ask, but is there a sheath available for the 110 that is more of a pocket slip with a clip? I have seen these for some smaller knives but I don't know if one is made that would fit a 110.

Congratulations on the new 110, and subsequent affliction for all things Buck!

I picked up a nice early 124 over the past weekend, and my first Yellowhorse, a Maple Burl Elk Custom 110 directly from David.

I suppose pictures will be in order as soon as I take some!

best
