Finally considering getting my first khukuri

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I'm ruling out the 16.5" Chiruwa AK because it seems a little overkill for my needs.
Welcome sharkling! As you grow, no doubt you will want a 22" GRS or 20" AK.;):D

Springer?

What was the very first sentence I told you?

sheez.

I loved my 15 in AK. Loved it.

But of the ones you initially discussed, the WWII has gotten the highest accolades. Now, if you are going to change your criteria, then I have to know, don't I...as your advisor and boon companion and the only person you can trust, cuz the rest of these people are insane.

hdwrlover - I am already planning to get at least an 18" AK in the future. I just don't think I need that much power in a hiking blade.

In the future I will be quicker to heed your advice.

No change in criteria, just being indecisive was all. The AK will come later. I must ask though, would I be considered insane also if I got a 25" or 30" khuk as a dislay/conversation piece?

yes, unless you have a bullock to sacrifice for some Event, in which case you will have other issues with neighbors and the Anti-cruelty society in your community.

Why not just put the money you would spend on such an item, up on the wall, and then take it down to buy more of the truly functional khuks?

Not insane, just Khookoo. I have a 30" Siru and I just have no real use for it although I'd never give it up! I don't use my khuks as much as I should, but when I do I usually reach for the 18" WWII or the BAS.

But everybody here is right, you can't get just one. They're like Lays potato chips!

A 25" Kobra is still a functional blade in my mind. For some larger fellows, 30" would be functional. There was a 25" AK just before Father's day that someone got. It's what you like, whether it's for use or for collecting. I have two GRSs in about 22" and 50 oz. I don't plan to carry these hiking, but they would be "functional" for car camping.

How many of us need a car that can go over 100 mph? Now how many of us want a car that can go over 100 mph? More than a few of us I will bet.
