I'm ruling out the 16.5" Chiruwa AK because it seems a little overkill for my needs.

No change in criteria, just being indecisive was all. The AK will come later. I must ask though, would I be considered insane also if I got a 25" or 30" khuk as a dislay/conversation piece?
A 25" Kobra is still a functional blade in my mind. For some larger fellows, 30" would be functional. There was a 25" AK just before Father's day that someone got. It's what you like, whether it's for use or for collecting. I have two GRSs in about 22" and 50 oz. I don't plan to carry these hiking, but they would be "functional" for car camping.Springer45 said:In the future I will be quicker to heed your advice.
