Finally finished my two hiking blades...

Wow, they look great bro, nothing rough looking about them !!!

I have to disagree with you when you said you should have left the scale on, I think they look better as you have now finished them !!!!

They are a real practical design and will make great general use blades, great stuff !!!!!!!
 
Some rust spots have shown up for the second time, so they are in the vinegar bath right now. I'll post some pics of the results when they are complete. When I left for work this morning, the steel 1/2" back from the edge (where it was quenched) is much darker than the rest of the blade. I really like the look.
