Finally found a use for it-

13 was certainly a good-looking knife. I didn't fancy 12 either. 11 was my first GEC, a gift from Duncan. 13 I like, even if the example I got wasn't the best. All in all, I'm not sure how much the annual forum knife enriches the forum, there can be a lot of bickering about it, and the sort of language and behaviour from some which we don't usually see here. Handling the project is to some extent a thankless task. I hope we don't get someone posting the usual needy, grabby thread before Xmas, or before next summer, in fact I'd be quite happy never to see those sort of threads again. As a forum we seem to have some prestige, and a huge amount of collective spending power...well I'll not go on. At least 13 was an unusual pattern, which was the popular choice among those polled - even if it did cost an arm and a leg.

A lot of water under the bridge, Jack. Let's just enjoy the 2013 knife for what it is.

I love that pattern. The longer main makes it desirable to me.

Congress patterns cause a loss of blade length for the fact that they have to nest the blades, and each end has pivots.

Good point and the Jack version of the Congress does not suffer from that limitation. That Sheepfoot is one long blade!

Pretty sure everyone has their individual favorites. I like the 2013 and 2014 just fine. Those are the only ones I own. I passed on both the 2015 and 2016 - neither of them interested me.

agreed, let the 2015 come and go definitely, even though it was CSC's last project?

Yes. I don't like wood handles, and I prefer bolsters. Sucks about CSC but nothing I can do about that. I have the Eric's Jack (the 2014 forum knife runner up) to remember them by.

Wow:)
When I said it was my least favourite that doesn't mean I don't like it.
I know 2016 is already in the mail so perhaps 2017 could have a "can opener" y'know -for the worms:p

As one of those who really pushed to get the Irish Jack made as a forum knife I have to say it's my favorite. Not just the pattern (which i like), but the GEC rendition which is far and away my favorite daily carry. I really wish they would do these in ebony and tortoise. I have all the other forum knives except the first ring pull and the 2011; amazingly this years is the one I'll probably wish I'd bought an extra one of. Charlie did us proud.

Here's a current photo of mine with a nice little fixed blade I found this past weekend.

Have 2011 through the '16, plus I picked up the '07 in trade a few years ago. Like 'em all, though the '11 and '13 make my top list. The '11 as it was my first to participate in, and the '13, because it is just a fabulous knife. Really, there are no bummers in the whole bunch.

I will always purchase one, as long as they are being created, just as a matter of principle. I love what they stand for: heated arguments, lengthy discussions, bickering and complaining, all part of being a community. And the praise and enjoyment as they are being delivered and examined, and pics posted make it worth it, for me. Yes, there is always a bit of contention and disappointment from somebody, but what family gathering is without a little drama? Yes, family. That's what this place is. And these knives represent that aspect perfectly. :D

I have owned 2010 through 2015 and have to say the 2013 is by far my favorite. It was a well finished, unique knife and I love the super long sheepsfoot blade.
