So after a long few weeks of drooling over the Spyderco Gayle Bradley, I picked one up from a forum member.

I know that you guys said this knife was smooth, but holy cow!!! Its as smooth as glass opening!! I have large hands and it fits perfect in them.

What better way to get to know your new blade than tearing it apart for a good cleaning.

This knife is very easy to breakdown and clean. I like that the pivot has two screws, one on either side. Makes it alot easier to get everything back together.

All Fresh and clean.

There has never been a time when I owned a CF knife and I must say I kind of like it. It has a weird texture to it but feels very secure in the hand. One thing that I do not like about the knife is the access of the liner lock, or lack thereof. I can and will get used to this as its just a minor issue that I can get over.

I will report back after I carry and use this knife for awhile. Not sure if it will knock out my delica4 or the military from my pocket but only time will tell.

Thanks again guys for continuing to talk me into this purchase.

Keyed standoffs, punched liners, pivot bushing,CPM-M4...the only other knife coming close in value is the Manix2 in 110V. Nice acquisition there.

If you're handy with a die grinder, or something of that sort, a relief to the liner lock can take a bit of strain off your thumb.

And just because it's so danged pretty and to give you some modification option ideas. You know, to get you to spend some more money. :D

Thanks guys. I'm loving it so far. I think I will leave the liner access alone for now and just get to know it better.

I carried it all day today in the shop, I'm an automotive instructor, and do not notice it in my pocket at all. I'm a bigger guy so the extra weight of this knife made no noticeable difference to me. Very comfy in the pocket and hand.

I can't wait to actually use this thing, and do a lot of cutting. Hopefully this weekend I can accomplish that.

I love those wooden scales!!

What a beauty. I'd love to own one of these some day. I like the smaller blade with the big spydie hole.

I bought one a few months back as a new EDC ( was a ATR for 9 years) I like it a lot pockets very well. Only issue I have is getting some rusting I have to keep fighting but it's due to my job wet from either sweat or just water often.

Finally had the chance to do some wood cutting tonight. I grabbed a few pieces of 1" diameter sticks and went to town. This things cut like a razor still cannot believe it.

Cut through limbs like butter and still came out razor sharp

During the last couple of years, I've looked at/handled many knives, and bought some "above average" blades.

One of those knives is a Bradley folder. It is by far my favorite. I love almost everything adout it.

The one thing thats bothers me is that mine rusted in one day(I believe) during a hot, humid summer this year. I sweat plenty. Probably the salt from my sweat.

I cleaned it up, and will probably start having to use some oil on it next summer.

Great knife.

Might have to look into picking one of these up. After collecting a bunch of Spydercos over the years and really not using them, I had held off. Now I find myself wanting one of these and maybe one or two others out there.

The Gayle Bradley sure is a looker, especially with some aftermarket scales!

I like the style, the smoothness, the fit and finish...but being a lefty, it's just about unusable for me. Wish it weren't so.:(

I really like the sharpening notch in your Bradley. I've been wanting to do that to my folders for a while.

Not sure I know what you mean

Your knife has a notch cut into the edge:

And there's not one from the factory:

It makes it much easier to sharpen since it's really tough to evenly grind the heel of the edge right after the choil. A sharpening notch lets you reach the very end of the edge comfortably. I've found it to be a bit easier on the Bradley than other Spyderco folders, but even still, it's not a walk in the park. I had been kicking around the idea of cutting one into mine before I sold it. It looks like it might've been done with a Spyderco diamond rod or something similar:

Ok I see. I just figured it was like that from te factory. The seller I purchased it from mentioned nothing about it or even doing that.

Wonder how many people had this one before me.

A proper notch is good. I've been wanting to grind a few of mine.
Think of the journey your knife has made before finally getting into the hands of someone who really appreciates it. I've bought knives on this forum that have been around and around. Even bought one that had passed through a few owners before I purchased it and found out it was originally mine! I had carbidized the lock face and reprofiled the edge. Made it simple to identify as my work.
