For years my grail has been this Walter Brend knife I saw on the cover of Blade a decade or so ago. His tanto made with mammoth tooth.

Never seen it up for sale (please let me know if you have it). Several years back I got on his waiting list and ordered my own version. Unfortunately no mammoth tooth was available but he did have some crosscut mammoth tusk. So after many years I finally own this beautiful knife. The fit and finish is amazing.

Awesome! blade, congratulations. I like yours much better. What a grind!

A decade or two ago there was a guy on BF who had broken a Randall (while mountain climbing I think) and got a Brend to replace it, and said it was indestructible. Although I suspect you won't be putting this one to that sort of use!

I have one of his "budget" Rescue models. I've used that a decent amount, it's a great knife. But yeah, unfortunately this one is a safe queen.
