Finally got my Grail. Walter Brend

What is a "grail" knife? Is that your "last" knife? Or the knife that best represents everything you ask for in a blade?

I have been watching Brend knives in magazines and such for years. Dang he does nice work! Congratulations on an amazing piece!

Wow that’s a beauty.

What do these run, like 1-200 dollars? ;)

For me at least it was a knife that I had been on a quest for years for.
I guess my "grail knife" or knife i imagine to be a perfect knife would be a fixed drop point or spear point blade in AEB-L or 14C28N with a stock thickness of .08 - .09 in premium G10 or natural burlap micarta

Sure, if you're 60 feet tall....

ETA: Sorry, I'm tired. I assumed the quote was a joke at first, but more likely it meant to include an extra decimal place. In which case, yeah that sounds like a nice, classy and useful traditionally oriented knife.

I’ll take one in 1.25 please and thank you. Got some Buicks to split.

I’m very much hoping he meant .08.

Your fixed blade would make a nice combo with this vintage Microtech Combat Talon II Single Action OTF from 02/2000 with it's blade ground by Walter Brend.

If I was into outside knives I'd try to get an English Sheffield - Stuart Mitchell bespoke - Damasteel Damascus - Sterling Silver - Mammoth Ivory - even at a grand plus - it's a bargain IMHO.
