Well, there are several people that I am blaming for this, Medicevans post is perhaps the most recent :P

This is something I have been eyeballing for well over a year. I had gotten a little rebate from when i upgraded phones and I have been trying to decide what to do with it since. I had been eyeballing a bunch of knives online and even though it cost me like $15 to pick it up from a local brick and mortar store than it would if i had ordered it online, its probably worth it to handle the knife first and check it for gaps, blade wobble etc etc. I kept on wanting to try it out but always talked myself out of it, or grabbed something else instead. Not sure why it took me so long to get one (its my first jack knife believe it or not).

But I think it was Jackknife's ringing endorsement that pushed me over the edge

I'd go with the Case small Texas Jack in amber bone and CV in a heartbeat.

I've fallen for the amber bone that Case does, and with the CV you'll get a nice contrast when the patina builds up. Just a classic looking pocket knife. And I like Case CV, it's easy to touchup anywhere while holding a good enough edge for most uses.

Carl.
anyways, it was already dark when i got this home, so the pics are pretty cruddy. I hope to get some more in natural light over the next couple days. But I have very excited, no blade play, no wobble, the blades line up nicely in the closed position, no gaps (I HATE blade wobble and gaps on a brand new knife). Spent a little time cleaning her up, scrubbed the joints with some dawn and hot water, got into the liners with a cut down q-tip (MAN these things come dirty) and stropped it a little. I CANT wait to try it out as my new edc

anyways, here are a few pics

Anyways, I am really excited
and you guys are a bunch of enabler's :D

Congratulations!

As I posted on medic's thread, my 6232 jack from 1978 is one of my favorite knives. I think you will be happy with this one for a long, long time.

Congrats! I think I need to carry mine tomorrow, it's a great knife!

Beautiful knife!

It's awfully hard to beat amber bone and CV in a jack pattern. Use it well.

Carl.

thanks everyone. i am real excited.
i am kinda surprised (pleasantly) at how beefy the pen blade is on this bad boy

now, do i start forcing the patina, or let it occur naturally
its still HOT in mississippi even in september so rust is an issue....i will play it by ear and see how it goes :P

That is one of the reasons I enjoy my 32 pattern jack so much. The secondary is not an after thought, but a substantial blade itself.

I got my Texas jack in a trade deal that I made several years ago. I forget how many knives I traded or how many I received but the Texas jack is the only one I still have. It's comfortable to use, easy to carry and nice looking as well. The secondary blade is the most useful pen blade I have used. It's a winner for sure.

i am betting she will do just fine :D

Very nice. I have been eyeballing a case in amber bone and cv also, but haven't decided between the medium stockman and small texax jack. Although some may say that the rounded bolsters feel better in pocket I like them square.
