I hadn't gotten a chance to try out the FBM yet, and I had gotten a new 15" AK during the week, so I had to find something to chop.
First Sunday in 6 weeks with no blizzard. I went around the yard and dug up some branches that had come down during the snows. I figured frozen silver maple should be hard enough. One piece was green, the other had been hanging up there for a few years, figured it had seasoned.
Lots of fun, lots of big chunks flying around. Took a bit to find the sweet spot. Both knives went through like it was butter, even though the FBM is 3 oz. heavier, it felt lighter. Similar to the difference between the LE and the CG, it's all about balance. The AK is balanced forward so it "feels" heavier to the hand. I did put a small ding in the FBM edge, no rolling though, won't slice newspaper anymore. Darn, now I'll have to sit down and sharpen it .
Oh, and pardon the non Busse content
