Only a couple of hours home we had 5 trout (she who must be obeyed caught 4) and the hibachi was going.
There really is no place like home!

After 4 months in the Southwest, Oregon is Heaven.

Home sweet home... No matter how good is the vaction comming home is the best part of it.... i like that grill you got there.. Now why exactly did you leave home in the first place lol ..

Well, since the queen of your fortress caught the lion's share, I would only hope she shared it with you; of course, providing you do all the dirty work... that is a given. ;)

I drive around the country hauling people's cars. With the price of fuel, I can't afford to come home often. I live in Paradise. 100ft from the river, 3 miles from the Pacific. Tomorrow we will be tidepooling. The next day probably hiking Cape Perpetua.
I don't get here often enough but when I do I make the best of it.
If you don't cook on a Lodge Hibachi you don't know what you are missing.
As for the little bit of knife porn, the Knives of Alaska Steelheader and Cub Bear are fantastic on trout.

That is a freakin sweet grill!!! Cast iron grate????

Glad your home man, looks like you got right to the fishin!

Congrats on a safe return home and a good day fishing! (I know, they're all good :D )

That grill looks awesome. As if buying knives hadn't hurt the bank account, now I have to find me some Lodge iron ware.

Yeah, the grill is incredible. I really miss it when I'm gone.
Now, I need to go hiking.
See Ya!

Lovely photos.

in the hibatchi, do you use charcoal or wood? out west I don't know if you could find much hardwood and spruce, pine, fine mght not be the best flavors.

And finally, by that evil grin I can tell that she must be obeyed or it won't be good.....

Pat

I use charcoal or Mesquite. Or charcoal with mesquite. I also throw a few Doug Fir cones in and they really create a fantastic smoke after the cooking. It then smells like the best campfire you've ever had.
Yeah, She better be obeyed or I will pay dearly. I really don't mind obeying either since I generally want the same things.

Well, she forced me to go tidepooling at Seal Rock today. Life is tough.
Great color on this starfish.
