Yeah!

Finally almost completed my first folding knife. I say almost because I'm still hunting for a suitable pocket clip; the ones I got are too big.

Friction folder (no lock), 1/8" CPM154 PG flat grind blade, satin finish, RHC61 (heat treated by Rob Ridley - many thanks!).
Stainless steel liners, epoxied to textured G10. Phosphorous-Bronze washers.

I won't sell this one - it is mine! MINE! :D Besides, I made so many errors making this first folder...corrected them as best as I could :o.

It was quite an endeavor for me building this "simple" folder. I now appreciate even more the knifemakers who make folders - you guys are VERY talented

I call this knife "Because Good Beers Don't Come In Screw-Cap Bottles" (BGBDCISCB in short)...see why in the pics...

As usual, critiques, opinions, jokes, feedback, etc are appreciated!

Thanks all!

Hey, you finished it! It looks really nice, I will have to check it out soon.

Love the name, too!

Looks great.

Also the bottle opener/screwdriver feature is a great idea. Would be great for anyone who has tried to use their knife as some kind of prybar.

Very nice i like how it turned out! So with a name like that i guess we will not be able to drink any 50 and this saddens me. Just kidding keep up the awesome work.

Nice work, I love it. I still havn't had the balls to try one, but this one has me thinking again :) The addition of the screwdriver is super cool too.

Nice but personally I prefer a more polished finish/QUOTE] LOL.

Please start a thread showing off the highly polished friction folders you have created, and I will let you know I prefer a higher polish to this one.

We have just made a LOT more errors than you have, now go make some more errors.....:D:thumbup:

The knife looks great, look forward to more of your work.

Thanks all for your feedback!

Just to make it clear: This knife doesn't have a screwdriver end, altough I guess it would be pretty easy to add. I'm thinking it would make the knife more "dangerous" in the pocket when closed.

Todd: You're right, I know :o. Looking at your knives, I'm astonished by the SHEAR AMOUNT of errors you made :D

can someone explain how to make a pocket clip in more detail.-----nice job--thanks marekz

Update - Ti clip added!

Had a piece of 0.040 6a-4V Titanium I bought from gusval a while ago...I gave it a shot! Not the best looking pocket clip, but it gets the job done :D

I feel much more secure now carrying this knife, with the blade "locked" in the closed position, against my pocket seam. Having a friction folder opening in your pants is not something I wanted to happend

I showed it to my wife...
Me: "Look honey; I made myself a folding knife!"
Her: "...but it looks like all your other folding knives..."
Me: "Yes! Isn't that great :p Now, go make yourself a pair of shoes and when you're done, in a year or two from now, I'll say "...but you already had 5 pairs of brown shoes"" :foot:

:D
