They have tried. It still dulls up the blades though. Kydex is the way to go.

I may have to send the 11 back to KA-BAR. The grind is off-center and the angles are all wrong towards the front of the blade, so we will see what they say. They may tell me to go back to LAPG. We'll see.

I just tried it now and it seems to have tightened up the cord a lot more that it had by soaking it and letting it dry.
I boiled a small pot of water, with enough for the handle to be completely immersed. I timed it for 3 minutes, flipping the knife halfway through.
After the timer went off, I pulled it from the pot and let it set to dry and cool. NOTE: Don't do what I did and try to pull the knife out without a mitt or a towel. It burns.
The cordage doesn't move or slip at all. Great success!
