ive read alotta really good feedback on these knives over the past couple months, so i decided to order the satin finish VG-10 F1 with the leather sheath sunday. should be here by the end of the week. im really looking forward to getting this one, it will be my first Fallkniven :)

anyone wanna share some experiences with this companys products? itd be much appreciated

I have got F1 for years. I find it very attractive and well designed: really like its overall size and handle shape. Great fixed blade: I am sure you will enjoy it!

It's a great knife. I think in the 4 inch range for production/semi production knives this is the king at its price point.

Very easy to sharpen with some sandpaper. The grip is deceiving, it looks substandard to me, but after one day out in the woods, banging on wood, carving, wet hands, it completely changed my opinion. I wish the handle was longer, but it is a pilot's survival knife so size was a consideration when they designed it.

This is the knife my girl always yells at me for, because I keep it on the coffee table when I'm home, always messing with it to cut whatever/whenever I can. I've got more expensive knives in this size but somehow I prefer this one.

ive always liked a somewhat concealable fixed blade knife for edc along with one folder. i cant find alotta info on the leather factory sheath...does it ride high enough to serve this purpose? 99% of the time my daily dress is a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt

Somehow I do not see F1 as a concealable blade. I would not even bother myself with any custom sheath to make it concealable because of its size, shape and weight. My personal idea of somewhat concealable fixed blade EDC stops on Izula or Spyderco Bill Moran at most: so I am probably not the person to listen to regarding this.

It's possibly the only knife I've ever bought based on the consensus of what I've read that truly lives up to the hype.

It's a near perfect design all the way around in my opinion.

The Fallkniven F1 is a well thought out Design. Mine has served me well for all tasks i've put it through. your's should cover your needs as well. If it dosen't put it on the Exchange, it woun't stay there long.:D

lol...i appreciate the advice, but i plan on keeping it. i read somewhere that everyone should own at least one of these knives, and
that was all i needed to hear to justify me ordering one LOL

Great knife. I have one with the ivory micarta handles.

It may be possible to conceal, but it does not ride high at least in the leather sheath I have for mine.

I carried the F1 as my only camping knife for quite a while, and it remains my favorite medium fixed blade for that, especially in wet conditions. Easy to maintain, very strong, and small enough to have it in a pack or on a belt, light, and a very good cutter. And while it doesn't really excel at anything, it can do quite a lot. I think you'll love it.
The squared spine throws quite some sparks from a firesteel, and can clean fish scales with ease.

Congrats, I dont have an F1 but have been tempted.

I use an A1 for camping, trekking and a U4 as my under the radar EDC.

Everyone should. Personally I have two with another coming. My first was a KnivesShipFree version with the micarta handles, and the second is the standard model with leather sheath. Just yesterday I ordered a blade blank through a special offer (now closed) on another forum, but am yet to decide what will happen to it with regard to handle and sheath material. All up a great knife though. Enjoy yours when it arrives.

i appreciate the posts folks... i will admit, sometimes i jump in two feet first when buying a knife manufactured by a company that is completely new to me. sometimes i end up being very pleased with my purchase....and other times not so much LOL

Keep us posted. Let us know when your F1 Come's in and how you feel about it. I'am betting love at first sight LOL:D

it's a great knife - holds the edge well and sharpens easily. the handle material seems to actually grip even better when wet! it's definitely built for harsh weather. i tried really hard to like it, even spending $90 on a martin swinkels sheath for it...unfortunately, the handle was a tad too thin for me and the lanyard hole was too deep that my pinky finger was always over it which really bothered me so i sold it.

now i have an s1 and like it way better...hopefully you'll like the f1. check out zyhano's youtube vid for it, although you probably saw that already.
