finally ordered a ZT 801

ive only owned one knife in 390 (Benchmade 755). it was a "catch and release" so I didn't get to fiddle around with it much, and this will be my first in Elmax...care to share why youd prefer one in 390?

and thank you all for your replies...much appreciated

I'm familiar with how M390 performs. I have a 581, 586, 810-1401, and a GSO-4.1 in M390. I don't know much about Elmax or how it compares to s30v, D2, M390, etc. For the price it better be at least as good as D2 with better stainless properties!

Fixed that for you.

The trick is to catch Will Moon when he's less backlogged. I know he likes to work in batches and will accept orders until he fills up. His ZT801 mods are very popular, I tried to get him to do one for me but he told me he just has too many to do at the current moment.

Performs as well or maybe even slightly better, but is easier to sharpen than D2. I do prefer M390 though.

well my package just showed up and Im a very happy camper. buttery slick opening, no blade play in any direction, even grinds, slimmer than I expected (a good thing imo) and perfectly centered. I haven't messed with a flipper in quite some time and because of the flipper being in the way, ive darn near nicked my thumb a couple times closing it. :o

oh...and the Maratac is neat as well... simple, basic and appears to be very well made. definitely different from the Fenix and Surefire lights I own....its isn't black with 106 different modes lol
