  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Finally picked up a Zaaan!!!

Just got my Umnumzaan today. Also from a forum member. It sure is a beautiful piece of work!
I agree that the lock is no problem to disengage at all. Nice and smooth opening too. Very nice.

I agree the Zaan is not nearly as easy to disengage as the 21s, but that being said it's not "difficult" to operate.
I take my time closing my knives so I don't have the worry of creating such pressure/force.

I definitely wouldn't mind if they made it a bit easier someway/somehow, but you can't have EVERYTHING you want...unless you go custom.

Listantica: your welcome and boy do I enjoy viewing your collection!

I like to open/close knives quite a bit even in a similar cutting task or same amount of time, so for me the disengage is very important, if it isn't as smooth as the engage then I frown a bit. My Darrel Ralph Trigger maze has a slight "stick" on the frame lock and it makes me frown a bit. My emerson - same thing a little too much "stick" on the liner in this case. the sebenza -- perfect. every. time. my microtech DA socom - perfect every time.

The additional parts to the Um are outstanding -- I wish that some of them would be incorporated into the Sebbie. The sebenza with the smoothness of the UM would be incredible.

I got my Zaan on Friday and I love it but at the same time I am a little disappointed. I just never gave me the wow factor that my first Sebenza did. I also don't like the quiet deployment, I like to hear that click, its part of the enjoyment I get from the Sebenzas. It is a nice knife though.

To be honest I cheat on my Seb with my Zaan. I also cheat on my Zaan with my Seb. :)

Honestly mine is as easy for me, if not easier, to disengage than my sebenza. I have large hands and haven't had any issues with manipulating my umnumzaan. The notch tends to "catch" my thumb whereas with the sebenza my thumb sometimes slides off.

It didn't give me the wow factor but my pocket sure loves it. :) In all fairness no knife has given me the wow factor.

The Zaan was/is my frist and only CRK and I love it! Good choice!

P.s. The glass breaker, it works! I tried it on a couple of junk vehicles we had at work. it took a couple of hits to get the technique down, but it is effictive!

P.S.S. I got the startac.

Great pics zippo'!

I just love the 'zaan, really unique and separate from the Sebe. Glad you are happy with it.

Thanks peppercorn!

Seems like the Zaan has gained quite the popularity recently!
