I think those are already oiled. Maybe not hand oils on the top of the ridges, but saturated.

Maroon looks like it's got oil on it for sure with different shades of color, green looks clean but could be wrong.

Can you do us a favor though? Can you scrub those in hot water with Dawn dish soap (or whatever you use) to clean them, and then dry them off and take another pic so we can see what they look like clean and dry? TIA!
This is what I was thinking as well. Can't see the fibers very good in the first pic.
If they look like this pic, I'll be happy still. Would like to see how the maroon will look clean and dry.
I'm thinking they are dry, the black canvas on my BGAD's looked like the pics Jerry posted of the maroon and green.
I believe they are being cut with much sharper tools, resulting in less fibers fraying out of the resin, just a guess.
