Finally placed an order.

Nice...very nice. You made good choices mate. IMHO that Salyani NEEDS a sheath that matches the blade. A sheath thats traditional, well made and beautiful. (And having a user carry option in leather is so practical) Kailash have done a stunning job on that Kukri.. The blade and handle, with the decorative engraving and polished finish its a cracker of a piece! Please update us with pics/comments etc.

It's funny you say that- I often feel that traditional blades can look higher quality in a western leather sheath. They're very well made and have a sort of ageless quality to them so tend to match pretty well visually. I can understand the desire to keep it as period as possible though

The Western Leather sheath style you guys make looks great . I saw the youtube vid recently showing in detail how they are made. Very good Vid!. And having the dangler style carry makes it a very attractive, practical option too. But for me..the Salyani style sheath is just too classy to pass on. Especialy for a piece like the Salyani Kukri. I think Metalsmith nailed it by wisely investing in both options. Now, a traditional sheath with removable frog that came with a dangler style option..that would be interesting...
