By Jove, I think you're right. Holding one of my S60V blems up to my monitor in a darkened room, I can reflect the blue horizontal line that divides these BFC posts...and on the "good" side, that reflection is fairly uniform. On the "blem" side, you can definitely see waves in the primary grind. The stonewash finish keeps it from being obvious in real life lighting.Based on the one I played with, the primary grind is not quite flat. It's subtle, but it shows up when the edge bevel is put in. Your only option would be to get the whole thing reground like Tom does. Of course it doesn't affect performance.
