Hey guys

I finally scored a NIB Spyderco C95GPS Manix off of evil bay two weeks ago.I've been waiting for it to arrive in the mail for about two weeks and it arrived today.:)
Now this is the strongest production folder I've ever held in my hands-bar none.:thumbup:It's a big folder-I love it!!
I've heard some people raving about this knife and everything is true. When I found out it was discontinued by Spyderco:mad: I was disappointed ,as I wanted to see and feel one in my hands to see what the hype was all about.
This folder is just about perfect for me-big, great steel, great ergonomics (even though I've got relatively small hands for a guy) it fits my hand perfectly, very grippy G-10 slabs and a proven, strong lock. This thing is rock solid:thumbup:

I've EDC a Spyderco Police C07STi for the last 8 years and I love that knife but this Manix is going to retire the Police to the safe:( and be my new EDC folder.
The only thing that could improve the Manix in my mind would be a larger pivot and lengthen the blade to 4 inches. Other than that it's perfect-I'm so happy I've been playing and admiring it all day:D
I was hoping that Spyderco would re-release the Manix, but when I found out here on the forum that a new Manix 2 was in the works I became optimistic that I'd buy the new version....until I saw the new Manix 2 photos that is.
The new Manix 2 was very disappointing to me-I'd never buy one-especially with that new cheap plastic lock button.
I don't know why Spyderco discontinued the old Manix-not enough sales maybe?? I would easily have paid twice what I paid ;) for this Manix.
Anyways, I'm so happy with my new EDC Manix that I want to buy another just to have as a backup in the highly unlikely event I could break this beast.
Great design Sal-maybe bring back the original Manix for a sprint run:D

The Manix "1" is a super folding knife and will never be replaced for what it "was".

Great snag. I have three large and a mini ;)

Hi Reeek

You're right-great design:thumbup:but I have a little bit of catching
up to reach your level:eek:
I also don't think there's going to be another Manix to equal the original.
These original Manixs' will do fine in the mean time.
If I wanted to improve on it I'd have to have a custom maker build one to my specs, but that is out of my price range now:( Maybe I'll get lucky in this weekends lottery:rolleyes: and afford to become a collector.
Until that happens, all my knives are users.

That plastic lock button is really just a cover over a hardened ball bearing. Not sure what's "cheap" about that. Don't be so quick to judge till you handle it. #1 rule concerning Spyderco knives. ;)

Congrats on your score.

gotta love the og manix!
