Today was the first day in about a week that I have felt half human, I got some D & V bug a few days ago and boy did it take it out on me !!! So today I decided to take the pooches on a taxing hike and really pump some fresh air into my lungs !
Today was also really wet, it had been raining constantly all night and was set in for today as well, this got me thinking about the recent post on how to get fires going in the wet !
This stream was actually the footpath !!!
Check out the trail here, can ya tell not many people use it ? It's strange in the UK if somewhere is a challenge to get to you find that many people will try it just because it is a challenge but over here there are so many nice places that are easy to get to that people seem to ignore those that are challenging like this one !!!!
Maisy seemed quite a bit better today and was well up for the walk !
At last we reached the top......
I started to scout around for some Fatwood to get a fire started, took a while but I eventually found some and battoned it down with my Bandicoot into smaller pieces ( how do you guys who don't batton do this, I have often wondered ? ) I should have made the pieces even smaller to start off but Snicker kept running off with them so I gave up !
I then decided to try using a tea light candle to get it going.....
I had a few other options in my kit but the candle worked out fine.....
Like I said in the fire post, without Fatwood you would really struggle in a place as wet as this !
And finally another view shot....
