I finally bought a Starmate (yes Senator, I finally bought the bullet). This is by far Spyderco's best folder, IMHO. I've lusted for one since the Blade show, but put off the purchase until now.

I love the emblem on the handle, but mine is very slightly off center and raised a little on the edge. I know this is anal, but what is the best way for me to remove/re-apply the emblem? I don't want to send it back to the factory for such a minor issue. What adhesive is best?

Thanks in advance, and good work

Glad to hear you finally got a Starmate

I think the emblem maybe epoxied onto the handle so it's just a matter of prying it off carefully, removing any old adhesive, and reapplying new adhesive and sticking it on correctly.

You now need to buy a vest

Welcome to the Starmate Family!
The knife is a real using work of art. I've admired Bob Terzuola's work for years and getting the Starmate was a real treat for me. It really is an outstanding knife for the money, IMO.

Dexter,

Tell me about it. I do have a vest, but it doesn't have many pockets. I'll give the pry and pray method a shot, but I'm not sure what type of adhesive to use. Elmer's glue?

BTW, I WILL be at the show tomorrow in Charlotte. Tell Senator to bring his purse! he he.

misque,

I am infatuated with Terzuola's folders. I purchased an ATCF with carbon fiber handles and titanium bolsters at last years South Eastern Custom show. In my opinion, they are top notch. The Starmate is just plain wicked!

BTDT...although the 440V serrated is an awesome piece. I like the Starmat a smidge better for all-around city/work carry, while the Military is better for active outdoor carry (for me).

'bout freakin' time!!!!!. But *mine* has the Corduroy mods...

Hahahaha

And it's not a purse! Just for that, I won't let you play with any of the NEW toy's I've received since the Greensboro show!

Bring that new decorated 'benza and the custom Terzuola. I want to figure out a way to uhhh, hmmm, relieve you of the pressures of owning them.

Chris

BTW, lemme guess what you're bringin'. Elishewitz Diablo, Terzuola Century Starfighter, and a freakin' 24k gold Emerson CQC6. David probably has the knife they took out Caeser with, and Dexter will have Excalibur. Boy, I need another job!

Senator, is Corduroy still making the mods? I may go that route. Also, what is the current magic number to become senior member? If its over 100, I'm screwed. It'll take me until the next millenium to make senior member.

Dang! I've been trying to put off buying a Starmate, but you people keep throwing it in my face!

I've had a Military for a few months now, and I love the steel and flat grind. But I think it needs it's brother, the Starmate, to keep it company.

WHAT??!!!
You haven't gotten a Starmate YET?!

Lagerman, what are you waiting for, man?

Anyone who has a Military needs the Starmate. It's like salt and pepper, dude! Gotta have'em both.
I can't imagine life without being able to switch off between these two. They compliment each other.
