I was also looking at crusader forge, and I think that or the Benchmade mini skirmish is the closest you will get. In particular, the Crusader Forge VF Flipper has a 3.6" blade with (what looks like) a possibly removable thumbstud?? If not, go to work on your $500 knife with a dremel...haha.

Spyderco has very few USA models in the ballpark, I've been buggin Sal for years about this.

I actually just double checked, not a wire clip at all. Normal spyderco clip. Not srue where its going to be made though..
