"Fine little blade..." Fire 'n' Ice.

I was thinking he might pick Jamie... If Jamie loses and dies, Tywin is out an heir. Gives them all the incentive to make the challenger lose. Who knows though!

Great show just got a little better!

I bet Tywin appoints Jamie .. and then asks for Tyrion's fighter, and Tyrion asks for Tywin to fight for HIM. Wouldnt that be a twist?

whoever Tyrion picks, that was an awesome build up to end the episode. i could feel the rage building inside of him from the injustice, and was very satisfied that he decided not to succumb to the situation by taking the option to get exiled to the night's watch (though he could end up there, who knows?)

Tyrion is able to fight his own battles against a evenly matched foe I, I believe. I wonder if a full sized one handed man is an equal match for a dwarf?

It was a good episode but may have been my least favorite episode this season. Lot of transitional stuff, and as far as what happened at the end, you knew that was coming (though a little earlier than I thought). I guess I was just disappointed the trial by combat didn't happen during this episode (probaby why I should go back to waiting and watching 2-3 episodes at a time).

I liked it .. but I think I'm going to need to re-watch it in case I missed some small nuances.

I guess taking things personal really does cloud your judgment.

I figured it would end in some odd fashion but I wasnt expecting the *pop* .. but come'on, comic books even taught the lesson dont monologue during battle ...

Yeah I agree, I mean Jorah's like the only one who's been there for her from the beginning of her rise. But she's already started behaving in ways that are at times disconcerting, which I guess is realistic in a sense that there's no pure good vs. evil here.

Lately I fear that the entire story will eventually end in some nihilistic fashion, there's all kinds of crap happening with humans who can't get along in the south, yet this gigantic evil (of course I guess even that could be open to interpretation) could hit them any time. Will all these factions eventually come together to fight together? or just fall to the winter?

I think even Daenerys took things a bit personal. I think she made a bad decision.

I can picture the houses coming together as one. Secret alliances will be made though. I can picture them defeating the winter soldiers of the undead and while all the houses guard is down and they all are raising their hands in triumph, the smart houses will insert the dagger into the back of the weaker houses. Ok I can't believe I just said that. I've been watching this show too much.

For some reason I think Stanis Baratheon's old lady is somehow linked to the winter soldiers. If so, house Baratheon is more powerful than it's being portrayed.

Wow... I just finished the last episode. I get that the show is violent, brutally violent at times, I get that every man must die, I'm usually not surprised when a main character gets offed. You could see that it was going to end poorly, yet I was still a bit shocked. It reminded me of a nightmare version of the Princess Bride with the whole "you murdered my sister" thing.

Pop.

So, anyone really believe that the little guy will see an axe? I'd really hate it if he did, he's (naturally) one of the greatest characters on the show, but that also makes him the perfect target. I really hope this show never becomes predictable. May it never jump the shark.

I don't think so.

It's kinda silly how Tywin (my favorite character) doesn't see Tyrion as an asset worth having in the family. Tyrion is very smart. He's pretty good at playing the game 2-3 steps ahead of everybody else. Tywin not seeing his sons ability to survive battles (physical and intellectual) is actually a great weakness.

I really hope this show never becomes predictable.

At this point, it's predictable in the fact that if you ever start seeing some serious development of a character where you, the observer, are appreciating said character .. then that character is about to die - violently. heh.
