Fine scratches.

I usually don't have much of a problem with scratching my knives. It shows undoubted use and I like that. But every now and again, I get the urge to see my blades nice and polished again. Case in point, my ZDP CalyJr. The 420J2 just seems to be a scratch magnet. It seems really soft. I even put a nice grouping of hairline scratchs on it the other night doing a push cut through triwall cardboard. SO I'd like to know what you guys use. I hear Mothers Mag polish is good but Flitz is better. But I don't really have the cash anymore to go out and try all of them to find the best. Any suggestions?

It should be noted that the scratches, they start after the lamination line and go back from there. The ZDP is holding true to its "OMG THATS SHARP!"

Just as you suspect, the 420 is much softer.

I don't use anything, but I do have some Flitz if I decide to polish something. :D

I am interested to know what others use as well. I have some Flitz that I use on my stainless revolvers, but I have not used anything on my knives yet.

I have some scratches on my ZDP Caly Jr and ZDP Caly3. Would like to be able to polish, if possible, but I am not brave enough to try the Flitz in the case that I might make things worse.

Use a Dremel Tool (or something similar) with the Fritz (or something similar) on a cloth (or something similar) buffing wheel. It should buff out the scratches on the 420J. I do this to my H1 knives and it works very well.

There are a number of products close to Fritz, some are even the same blue color. Any type of polish/buffer type paste should work. There is also stuff called "PEEK". It looks and smells exactly like Fritz, probably is.
