Finest production stockman pattern available?

Nice stag on that one Elliot. I can't add anything. Everyone has it covered. you could pick up a nice older stockman off of Ebay. Older knives like NYK or something, but you will pay, and you have to be careful.

*Edited* Actually Mooremaker has some dandy looking Queen made stockmans. They have an appealing pinned shield and nice yellow bone. F/F is is great and 1095 steel.

Thanks, Steve.

Agree about the yellow bone Moore Maker...this one is the large size (4 3/8") which I bought off the 'net a while back:

Steven, here are the actual images of the Eye Brand stockman I received yesterday:

Thanks for the pics. Glad the weather is holding up....:o
Beautiful little popcorn stag dots on that one Elliot. Mike picked you out a nice one.... Enjoy:)

Queen put out a Dan Burke collaboration: the "Real Cattle Knife".

BG-42 blades, very nice.

I don't know if they are still available. A.G. had some, and so did Bill Horn.
Both good folks to do bidness with.

Thanks, Steve.

I have the 5300. it's a small 3 1/4 and nice slim blades for fine work.

Elliott, noticed the match striker pulls. Did you ask for them or did it just happen? I like them myself.

I would try Case XX Select. There are different patterns in the select runs, but a limited amount are made though remain easy to find. I know they have some stockmans in there. A dealer told me this year that Case didn't make any selects for 2009. So you would be looking for pre 2009. They are a cross between the regular productions and Case/Bose Collabs. Better handle materials in most cases like snakewood, pearl, mammoth ivory. Also fluted bolsters. I have a Gunboat Canoe in snakewood (like a large stockman) which ran me $200 and a Med. Stockman in mammoth ivory that was a gift. I would guess it close to $250. Both solid user

Some very nice ideas here fellas, thanks for posting them. I have a tough decision here, it's hard for me to pick just one among all the nice models indicated here...
