Finger grooves...yea or nay?

The way the front bolster is shaped on a 112 makes it not need finger grooves. The 110 doesn’t have that bump so the finger grooves help it from sliding around.

Be aware the finger grooves are recessed into the handle as opposed to the spikes being raised. So finger groove 112’s and 110’s are narrower and lighter then the smooth versions.

On a 112 I vote no finger grooves.

Personally, I've never cared for finger grooves, or seen where they offer an advantage.
I'm probably in the minority, however. I know there are some who love them.
Is there any way you can try one with finger grooves before you order from the Custom Shop to see if you like how they feel in hand? A local sporting goods or cutlery dealer? Perhaps a local friend who has one?

I don't have large hands, (small/medium or medium gloves) but I found the 112 to feel a wee bit ... "cramped" ... I suppose is the best way to describe it ... compared to the 110. I don't know if finger grooves would make it feel more so.

.

I have 112’s both with and without finger grooves. Both are great. I only carry the finger groove models.

I wear a size ten glove, if that matters.

on a 110, I can fit my fingers in the finger grooves. on a 112 it is too small for even my little girl sized hands, to use the finger grooves. they arent useful as finger grooves more as visual looks.

Exactly what I was going to say. Yes on the 110, no on the 112. The grooves are just too small to fit your fingers into on a 112.

I agree the grooves on the 112 are a bit small for the size knife it is.
So I admire it.
I cannot carry all of them anyway.
