Finger-Hole Knives

I love Perrin's designs, but I just don't care for the "rough hewn" look of his finished pieces. Nothing more than personal preference, but if I'm going to pay custom prices I want something that suits my tastes more closely.

Make sure you post pics when this thing is finished. I think it's going to be really sweet.

Bob:

Sweet design! I really like both you have outlined there.

Here's the finger-hole blade I asked Ferret to make for me. I'm still waiting for it, but it looks awesome. He has a way with ergos...

Very nice! A bit extreme for my simple tastes :D but I like it!

Hi Bob,
THX for the kind words. :D

Surely Günter is a great guy to talk to (and to buy from!) , at the moment he should work on customizing my CRKT CKFF with a damast blade

I also like your modifications with the knife, it is not a bad idea to make the blade a little shorter than mine, i wanted it that way but there is a lot of "hebel" (is leverage right translated?) with the long blade and short grip.

Hope to see pics of your knife

At long last I have a picture to post!

Back along this thread a ways I said that Günter Böhlke was going to make my ideal finger-hole knife for me (and posted an outline of it). Now the knife is done and awaits only a sheath before he ships it to me. And he sent me a picture to tide me over.

Since several of you were kind enough to ask, here it is!

This knife has a 3-1/2" recurve blade of S90V. The scales are ironwood. It will be carried in a horizontal belt sheath of kydex.

I hope this will become an EDC for me.

I am so excited I can hardly stand it! :D

That is a pretty nice looking knife. Be sure to give us a performance report once you receive it.

ferguson: I have seen the Hideaway Knife before. I think it's a great design, but I like the four-finger grip on La Griffe-type designs better, especially when paired with a longer blade. Eventually I'd love to have a Hideaway too. :)

For that matter, I would be interested in information on production finger-hold designs. I'm familiar with the Emerson, CRKT, TOPS, and S&W models. Are there others that I've missed?

Thanks!

Kuttmaster, (or is it Cuttmaster) also makes one I have never used one I have only seen a picture so I can't speak for the quality.

ZENGHOST: Very nice!

I love seeing all the different directions that people have taken the finger-hole concept.
