Just got this done and would like to pawn it off on one of you guys:) I thought it would be kinda cool to make some stuff in G10 so here ya go.

Over all it is 3.5" long and 1/8" thick the hole is 1.25"
The hole is wrapped in 100lb spiderwire

How strong do you think that is? is it just onamental? I've never seen anyone make a blade out of G10? is there no metal at all? do you think it's stronger then say wood or bone?

sorry for the barrage of questions...
 
G10 is strong stuff :thumbup:. Can we get some in-hand shots please? I'm having trouble judging the size of the knife..
 
its very strong, I made a set of knuckels out of the stuff and I can punch a 2x4 full force and it doesnt deform at all.

I use a G10 knife in my Krav Maga classes and it holds up very well.

I wear a size medium glove and have ham fists so take it as it looks.

wow...i came up with almost similar design...that's cool and scary. :)
i do plan to have mine made in steel of course.
 
Just trying to be informed here... Can G10 be sharpened to a cutting edge?

I have seen this sort of thing done in carbon fiber but never in G10...?

just like carbon fiber, it will take a edge but it wont be an edge that you can cut much of anything with. this is meant for more of an impact tool, I did not put too keen of an edge on it so that it would not dent so easily. Dont get me wrong though, I have messed with some G10 that would cut wood, but just not very much. It is very strong stuff.
