Cube up some meat. Beef, lamb, chicken, venison, all good. Throw it in marinade for a few days. People back home guard their spiedie marinade recipes like my wife guards her...well, they keep them to themselves. After marinating load up 8-10 cubes on a skewer and grill. When they’re done, wrap a nice piece of Italian bread around them, slide the whole thing off of the skewer and eat. They’re delicious. There’s an annual spiedie festival that’s a pretty awesome event if you’re ever in the area. https://www.spiediefest.com/ When I was younger, my aunt used to grill and sell spiedie sandwiches outside of local bars.
 
What a great trip to share with grandkids. Pics are always appreciated. I am sitting at 11 feet above sea level. I also love the evolving story of these threads. I even learned a bit about sandwiches. :) and who doesnt love a good sandwich.

Got a ruff 15 mile climb this weekend. Trying to talk my BIL into making it a 12 mile climb. I want time to break out my pocket fisherman from the 80s and catch some lunch. You and Dubz are always welcome.
 
I've been hunting on a 160 acre piece of private land. My BIL and I would rebuild his farm equipment and he let us hunt and nobody else. Orange County NY has 36,000 doe permits!!!! The Owner is selling and moving after this year:( I'd invite you to come hunting but after this year i will be looking for a new place.
