fingernails

View attachment 1041508 I closely trim the middle 3 nails on my left hand to play the banjo. The rest are medium length. My favorite pockets tools are the real (toothed) file on an old SAK Money Clip and the curved jaw, flush cutting cuticle nipper on a CEM Maniago knife.

I keep my nails very short, due mainly to my profession (professional massage therapist). You don't want to chance poking someone with your nails. But I've never had any problems opening any of my slipjoint pocketknives, except for one Case trapper back in the '90s that I had to exchange (that one was a real nail-killer). I can easily open my SAKs.

Another reason I like short nails is, I absolutely hate it when my hands (and nails) are damp, and a nail gets bumped or bent back against something because it's damp and soft.
