Finish For Cocobolo Scales?

I've just finished fitting a pair of cocobolo scales to my SAK and was wondering what finish (if any?) would be suggested.

The wood looks great as it is and I would like to keep it loking that way. Clearly, this knife will not be used for any heavy duty work, subjected to caustic stuff or anything else too nasty.

So, do I need to put a finish on the wood?

If so, will something simple like paste wax do? Or............?

As always, any suggestions most appreciated!

Thanks!!

As you said, the cocobolo looks great as is. I finish by buffing with white compound, shows any small scratches I missed. Then maybe lightly rub with beeswax once in a while. Paste wax would be fine.

I use Danish Oil on Cocobolo. Wait a few days, then wax. Good.
