I'm soldering a 416 stainless guard to a 5160 blade, what grit do you guys finish the individual parts before soldering?

Thanks!

I don't solder much anymore, but when I did I liked to take the gaurd top to a decent 600 grit finish. If I lucked out and did a super good solder job I had an easier time cleaning it up.

Make sure you have a flux designed for stainless steel. Fit is important, should be .003" clearance !! Not necessary to tin the stainless.
