Well here's number 2, kinda. It's actually the first one I started, but it was too much for a first! I suck it on the back burner and just now am getting back to it... finally!

It's Long Saex inspired, with a distal taper. Leather wrapped oak handle with a Turks head knot "bolster". (Yeah, I know it's not a bolster, but I don't know what to call it.) Hand sanded to 600 on the flats and 800 on the spine and pomel.

Specs:
Aldo's 1084
Ht by Darrin Sanders to 58/59
OAL 15" long
Blade is 2" wide and about 10" long
Oak handle, wrapped in leather.
Leather sheath by yours truly.
Pomel is a copper wafer sandwiched between two brass plates.

I know there's quite a few flaws. There was a warp left over from heat treat that I couldn't get out completely, so the secondary bevel is all wobbly. I also used white epoxy to stick everything else together. I won't do that one again.

Well let me know what you think, suggestions ect.

Your seax is nice. I am sure you are proud of it....as you should be.

A few comments:
The edge grind is very small. It will cut better with a better angled edge. The one you have is OK if the use will be robust, but remember that the tip is very fragile if doing any hard use tasks.
The handle is too fat. That comes from forgetting about the thickness of the wrap when shaping the core. Making a mock-up can help refine these things before making the final knife.
The distal taper on the blade is good. Nice job.
The sheath is nice. Look up some sheath tutorials on doing the stitching. Especially using a "stitching grover". You will be amazed at how much that adds to the look of the sheath.

Thanks for the comments Stacy! I appreciate the input.

I know it's kinda hard to tell, cause of my crappy photos and the lack of grind lines, but it's almost a full flat grind. The actual bevel stops about a half an inch from the spine.
The edge is about the thickness of a penny, just behind the edge. I imagine that it could be a bit smaller huh?

I agree, the handle is too big. It's comfortable to hold, but I suspect that with any kind of use it'll want to come out off your hand...
Thanks again for the comments, I'll keep them in mind for the next one. Hopefully it doesn't take a year for me to get around to it this time!
