those are nice blades! what can you tell me about your sheath? i am building a choppa for my bro-in-law who is a flyfisherman and he wants to hack his way to the water. i need to make the sheath so it is wader/float tube friendly, and kydex seems pretty stiff for that. i have some fairly wide nylon webbing and was thinking of using that, but not sure what to use inside to keep the blade from poking through. i dont have immediate access to kydex or a kydex press, so looking for ideas.

Very, very nice! How'd the HT turn out with the S-7? How does it hold an edge with the 57 HRC? Been curious about that steel... heard that it doesn't hold an edge too well, but that it's tough as hell. Thanks.

blgoode: Coming from you, thanks:) I love the knives you make.

gruntstorm: Well havent tried that, but I did cut my thumb in half last camping trip when it bounced off a knot on a branch:eek: nice and sharp

Troop: It holds a hell of an edge, I had Paul Bos heat treat it for me with cryo. I put the first convex edge on it about 3 months ago and havent had to touch it up yet, I have put it through hell with that edge. I doubt I will break it, but I will try. I think I will make another one like it out of cpm154 or SV30? Not sure yet. I would like to not have to worry about rust. WA weather sux.

724wd: The sheath is one I bought from TAD gear. It has a kydex inner sheath, that I formed to the blade. I just used a heat gun and hand formed it.

Thanks again every one. I will post up when I get my latest one done.

Oh....Paul Bos did the HT. I wonder how us "Non-Immortals" would do with the HT of S7?:D Mr. Bos could HT a popsickle stick which would shave hair for months!:D

Ya he did a damn good job, I will be using him again when I get more done. Hell they came back and I couldnt even tell they had any thing done to them. Only a little yellow discoloration.:D
