Finally finished the W2 fighter that I forged out before the holidays. Sorry for the webcam pic. I will try to take a better pic when the sun comes up:D I'm going to take it by the Gator Cutlery Club show tomorrow and get some feedback. Kinda anxious, I must say:eek:

Thanks, man. The fuzzy pic hides some minor to moderate flaws. I think i've gotten a halfway decent feel for the design aspect of knifemaking (keep it simple and take inspiration from the pros that i admire), but i still need a LOT of work on the technical and fit and finish side of the equation. That comes with time, PATIENCE, a bit of instruction and mentoring and also with breaking some bad habits that I have developed....:D

I realized that i loaded the wrong pic. This one isn't much better due to the pseudo-flash effect that my Mac uses, but it show the proportions more accurately.

Jdm61 I like it, looks like a clean fighter and I like the wood you used:thumbup:

nice knife , I bet the boys at the gunshow will like it too. Is there a sheath? What are the fittings?

It was the Gator Cutlery Club knife show......gun shows make me ill with all of the Frost, United, etc knives for sale...lol. I showed it to Charlie Ochs and a purveyor among others. It was generally well received. "On the right track" and all that. After looking at some other makers knives, I am comfy with the idea that I may be a little farther along than I thought in the design department and, to some degree, in the finish area. Still have to get the technical stuff right. No sheath yet. It currently rides in a ziipper case and a lame Blackhawk nylon MALLE compatible abortion that i had lying around. The fittings are nickel silver and the handle is African blackwood. Future variants of this type will probably get a Kenny Rowe pin-lock sheath of some type until i can figure out how to make a good leather tactical rig.

Looks like a good, solid knife to me. Congratulations! Most of us just admire, envy, buy, use...but don't make.

Well, I need to check in here more often. Good lookin knife Joe, clean, simple, good flow. I like it and you are further along than you lead us to believe. Now you need to learn how to take a decent photo :D

I like it. I'm a person who admires the work everyone on here (and elsewhere) can do w/a hammer and raw steel. I only buy, use and admire so far.

Nice looking blade there but for some reason it looks like there is a strange face in the picture as well..:D

Yes, I noticed that.....does it show up as a chubby middle aged guy with reading glasses on your computer too? lol
