These knives are all in a prototype stage. Input is appreciated.
Thanks Nathan
Let me know what you think.

Nathan, congratulation for your good work!
Your grinding is impressive (especially for
your first 3-4-5 knives) and as I like them!

I am in a hurry to see the next ones! and
I am happy that you like my photos ! :)

Those are nice but they look very reminiscent of Neil Blackwood's designs. Are you apprenticing with him, like Obenauf/Carson? If so you're a lucky guy.

That's what I thought too, which means: They look great!

No apprenticing with Neil Blackwood.I have spoken with him in the phone several times and he gave me some good advice,I have never seen anyone make a knife.I just draw the knive on paper free hand
and then grind it.I have studyed over Mr Blackwoods grinds for some time
and I praticed on scrape metal to get the round shoulder like he has.
These knives are in a prototype stage,I think I will loose the finger grove on the little drop point. If my work looks any were near like Mr Blackwoods,I am very humbled.Neils work has been a big influnacne on me along with a couple other makers. Thanks for the complements
:)

Great work! Those are some fine lookin knives. First thing I thought when lookin at them was that they reminded me of Blackwoods' too. I especially like the first and last ones pictured.

Thanks
The Big knife made me nerves when I first started, but once I got into,I learnd to grind it in sections :)My work does have a Blackwood tone but there are other makers who have also influanced me.I will never be as good as Mr Blackwood;)

Exceptional knives, Nathan. Sure they have a Blackwood style to them, but it's a style worth repeating. Glad to see you paying just homage as well, but you need to take a bow yourself. This is simply fantastic handwork.

And I'm also dazzled by Alain's fabulous pics. Makes me want to throw out my camera.... :( Well, maybe not. :) Great work by all!

Alain is a top notch guy, very prompt and really does some very good work.He is also a heck of a knife maker himself.Don't throw your camera away you do top notch work.
Thanks for the complements on my work.I am sure you will get to
see some off it up close in the very near furture.Time to start building a web page,Now if I could just sell some:D

You won't have any problems selling those sweet blades. I think I better get one now, before you make it big time! :D

Impressive work! You sure have talent, I look forward to see more of your knives.

Thanks
Bruchtree,I hope I can make it big time,I have a table for next years blade show so I get to work for a good year, maybe I will have some good ones ready for the show by then;)

Coop, thank for the good comments !
I do not have a lot of merit, it is easy to make good photos when
you have a good subject !

If you throw out your camera, say me where you throws it,
that interests me ! ;)

I am looking forword to seeing your stainless knives you have coming
back from HT,I am sure they will be great looking knives:)

this might be an unpopular response but, here goes..

this is not meant to be a negative post though it may seem like it.. but, a knife design is nearly impossible to patent and most makers take REAL pride (as they should) in their latest creation..so, when knives turn up with NEARLY IDENTICAL looks, it just doesn't seem fair to the maker of the ORIGINAL idea..as this can easily confuse the knife-buying public, cause malcontent between makers and the buyers of thie wares....i have seen some new makers come out with "copied" patterns and it rarely ends well..i just think that a maker is at least owed the respect of a "what do ya think of this" before a new maker releases a similar knife..

your knives look quite impressive....but, if in fact you are truly indebted to neil, i would have hoped that you sent or at least offered him a kinda pre-showing of your blades before you released them to the masses..out of respect if nothing else.

now, i don't know you or have any knowledge of any conversations you may have had with mr. blackwood prior to your release so no assumptions are being made..it is just that i have seen this scenario before and it rarely has turned out positive..in fact it negatively has impacted buyers and makers..

this is not meant to be negative in any way..only educational

Ok, I don't think these knives look in any way as if they were copied from Blackwoods' designs. I, for one, only meant they had an "inspired by" look to them, and there is nothing wrong with that. Obviously Mr. House is not trying to mislead buyers into thinking these knives are Blackwood's. Every maker has to be influenced from somewhere, and this leads to similiarities in design. That does not make it immoral copying. And your "educational" post does indeed have a very negative feel to it.

I say keep up the good work Mr. House.

READ WHAT I WROTE...i specifically SAID that it was NOT meant as negative..and that I DID NOT KNOW the individual or his intentions..i was merely voicing my opinion which AGAIN i said that too..

and no relation to neil's knives..? are you looking at the same pics the rest of us are?

need i show more..?
i STAND BY MY ORIGINAL POST..it is if NOTHING more, a show of RESPECT to contact the ORIGINAL creator of a design prior to a release of which your knife is patterned..
